Despite the icky weather, we arrived safely in Charleston last night. All went smoothly flying out of Milwaukee (I love this airport...small, reasonable, and away from the craziness of O'Hare, when the layover isn't there). Our flight was delayed slightly, putting us into Atlanta with about 20 min to make our connecting flight. Needless to say, that connection was on the other side of the airport, so we all had to run to make the flight. Not so easy to do in heals, so yes...I was seen shoe-less running thru the airport last night in Atlanta :) Unfortunately, our flight out of Atlanta did not go as smoothly. We boarded at 11 pm, and were still waiting on the runway at 1 am to be de-iced (Guess that airport isn't so used to a pile of planes needing to have that done quickly, b/c there was quite a lineup.) We finally arrived in Charleston in the wee hours of the morning, 2 hrs. behind schedule. But we made it...and all is well! Today Brian will get to sleep in awhile while I go into the office. He also plans to nose around downtown Charleston a bit, and we'll meet for lunch. Tonight is the DMI Charleston Holiday party at High Cotton, which is a restaurant in the Historical District downtown: www.mavericksouthernkitchens.com/highcotton.
(If I'm lucky, we'll have a little time to nap before hand :)
