Avery Turns 7 Years Old

I'm not sure how it happened so quickly, but Avery is now 7 years old! She had her first slumber party this past weekend! We packed in all her favorite things...a scavenger hunt, craft time (guords made into bird houses), campfire, dance party, pretend playing (house, store, concert, etc :), jumping on the trampoline, birthday gifts, hide and seek, tag, dress up, a movie, and ice cream sundaes! Avery is a little girl full of personality. She enjoys playing with her friends and is quite the little social butterfly. Her Dad and I think she is smart and beautiful (of course we do :) She is not a morning person; she prefers salt over sweet when it comes to food; she likes watching TV and playing Wii; she is very good at coloring and is getting better at drawing, when she has the patience; and Avery is a good little helper. Her mix up of words on a regular basis (i.e. KOA is K-I-Say) and "take" on life ("Well, tough, just deal with it, Bryton!" makes us laugh. Happy 7th Birthday, Peanut...

An Extra Special Day

Besides celebrating "Aunt Corey's" birthday this past Sunday...we watched the big game , and it was the first time Grandma Joyce held her newest Great Granddaughter :)

Praise to you, ever-watchful God, for you are our refuge and strength in every time and place. Send your blessing upon those who are serving our country in the armed forces. Let your peace be the sentry that stands guard over their lives, so that they may return home safely. Look with compassion on all victims of war; ease their sufferings and heal their wounds. Put an end to wars over all the earth, and hasten the day when the human family will rejoice in lasting peace. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns as the Prince of Peace, both now and for ever. Amen.
