I woke up, and for a few brief minutes, as I was in between sleep and consciousness, I thought "what day is this?!" Soon after, I remembered: short work and school week, only a few scheduled meetings/events, house is in decent shape, kids slept through the night, i don't want to get up, blah blah blah.... and so the day began.
And it is funny to me, as I think back now at the end of the day, what it ended up being....
1. thunderstorms in the early a.m. - which tend to freak me out in my "older age" - thus putting the car in the garage, which meant cleaning out of 1/2 of the poor 'lil building to make room for a vehicle.
2. a great family morning, but jeez, how did it get to be 7:30 am already and I'm just getting out of the shower?! yikes, kick it in high gear to get kids on the bus and me out the door by 8 am!
3. leave work a little early b/c I've lost a filling AND a cap - ouch - and ughhhh...I have to go to the dentist. I'd much rather give birth than go visit him (and yes, I did tell him this, which he found pretty funny)
4. a call from Bryton's teacher, saying "well, we had an incident on the playground, and let me say first off that Bryton is 99.9% innocent." the rest, well, lets just say Bryton's story (which he immediately told me when he got off the bus, innocently) jived with his teacher's, thank goodness.
5. the CO detectors going off in the house, right at dinner time. we'd had a funny smell going on in the house while dinner was cooking, so it made sense once the alarms went off to call the Fire Dept. And yep, our CO level in the kitchen was bad enough to alarm us, so we are ventilating as I write this, and the gas line to the stove has been shut off for a little while.
Soooo...the house is quiet, the dog is snoring soundly in the kitchen, and I wonder what the rest of the week will bring?! Guess we'll roll w/ the punches :)
